The standard red and black logo (1) should be used where possible.
If there is a need for greater contrast, the background is red or
the publication is not printed in sufficient colours then the black
variation (2) is acceptable.
The logo, and any accompanying text, is only to be reproduced/displayed
using the following colours:
-
Black R0 G0 B0 / C100 M100 Y100 K100
-
Red R100 G0 B0 / C0 M100 Y100 K0 / Pantone 185
The standard logo should be used if it is placed on a plain background.
If the chosen background is dark enough to damage legibility it
is acceptable to use the logo in white (3). The logo should not
be placed over images or textured backgrounds except when displayed
on the orange background with a white glow (4).
The logo should never be stretched or distorted, only scale in proportion.
The minimum size it can be used is 4.5mm high (5) for printing and
6mm (6) for screen. If the strap line or website are being used
they must not be displayed at less than 6pt.
When displayed with the web address the text should be centred below
the logo. Use Gill Sans bold for 'ask-what-if' and Gill Sans Light
for 'www.' and '.com'. When displayed with the strap line use Gill
Sans light italic for 'the official guide to' and Gill Sans bold
for 'boosting driver awareness'. There are three arrangements (7-9)
displayed, these are the only options. (the accompanying text is
displayed at less than 6pt here but these are only intended as examples
of positioning).
To prevent the logo from being obscured or crowded by other elements
there must always be a clear space around it. To calculate this
exclusion area use the height of the letter 'a' (10).
To obtain the 'What if?' logos as Illustrator 7.0 or jpeg (RGB)
formats please send an email stating your reason for requiring the
logo, including the intended use, to webmaster@ask-what-if.com.
